The Supreme Court of Wisconsin has upheld the Appeals Court decision, ruling that Siggy the Venus flytrap is, despite being a plant, a pet under Wisconsin Statute #123.

It took a year and a half for Mike Johnson's case to make its way through the court system. He is in disbelief that the court decided his plant was a pet, and what's more, that it was sufficient grounds for Ms. Miller to evict him.

He had already decided to move, though - even if he had won the case, the conflict with Ms. Miller made his living situation too uncomfortable. He hopes his next landlord will be more reasonable!
